Does my veiled have a burn or is he sick? Please help

Could somebody help me out my chameleon started to get this purple look on his head and I'm not to sure if it's a burn or if he's sick. if you could tell me what you think and I should do I would appreciate it really much.

I can not see any burn,but little cross eyes look thats about it(which is normal n cute looking)

Yeah i didnt know if i was freaking out about nothing or not. this is the second time I've own one but this time i'm living in the basement right now so I had to buy a bigger light bulb to keep his temputure just right and his head started to get that purple out line so I didn't know since I bought a bigger light bulb if it burnt his head. or if he was developing bone disease

The lamp on the left is a ceramic infrared heat emitter. then the one on the right is used for the reptisun 5.0 uvb and 150 watt daylight blue retile bulb during the day then only 1 100watt nocturnal infrared heat lamp during night

Temperature is always around 74-87 in the middle of his cage then the humidity I try to keep around 50 or above but days when I have to leave the house it goes down to 35-45 then I will fix it once I'm home

The daylight blue can be replace with softwhite regular house light bulb ,use a digital temperature gauge to probe the suitable temperature for ur juvenile cham which is 85F more or less on his basking spot(branch or vine)
Take away the red light as at night they need completely darkness to fall asleep ,put some more branches horizontally so the cham can roam around inside the cage instead of climbing on underside of the screen n accidentally getting burn from the light dome.
The cham can with stand the temperature around 50F at night with no problem at all.

As long the veiled get his drink on by misting few time daily it will be fine,unless u want to do the live plant thing then u will need more AQUA.

They withstand 50F????? I thought they couldn't go as low as 70

Yes 50F its very alphakenc true since they need to cool down at night ....remember they are cold blood reptile.(also think where the veiled chameleon came from....the temperature at night)
But ur room temperature probably wont even go down that low to 50F so both of u wont be freeze without a doubt.

Homedepot or Lowe if u want to build one "cheap",but cheap has to be effective n efficient,otherwise it will not be useful.

Yup, a temp drop is good for them at night. As long have a nice basking spot set up for them to warm up in the morning and they will
Be just fine. And they set their internal clocks by their day night schedule. Any light at all, even red, will disrupt their sleep and mess with them. If it drops below 50 and your worried, you can get a ceramic bulb that puts off heat but no light. But honestly, if you can sleep and not freeze to death in the room they are in then they will be fine.

Go to the resources tab at the top of the forums and read up on the veiled care sheet. Really study it and follow it and you'll do great!

Definitely agree that you need to add some more horizontal branches at varying heights for him. And I would add a pathos or something that the vines could wrap up and into the center Tom give him some more cover and places to hide. Check out the enclosure threads to get some ideas.

You could also just put a clear plastic shower curtain on 2 or 3 sides to hold in some of the humidity. And live plants like the pathos or ficus also help with humidity.
