do you leave the heat lamp on at night

I have done all the aquedate research to get a veiled chameleon, but I am not sure of this

Chameleons actually benefit from a temperature drop at night, so no lights or heat at night unless it drops into the 50s. New keepers seem to worry about this, but it can be cool and even cold at night so long as they have a basking spot to warm back up in the morning.

Lights will also disrupt their sleep. So if your temps to drop into the 50 degree F range then get a ceramic heat emitter.
