The temperature here in florida is starting to get pretty hot. The air temp in the room I keep my veiled's in is like 86F right now but it has gotten in the low 90'sF already. And its going to get hotter! Should I still have a basking lamp on when the air temp gets this hot. Im starting to get a little worried because my 5 month old male veiled has a little crooked part to his casque. Its just a tiny bit crooked about 2/3 of the way up his casque. He spends alot of time under his basking lamp and I heard too much heat could cause this. Or since it is just slightly bent it could just be "normal" like something genetinc. Im pretty sure its not MBD. I give him calcium w/ D3 two to three times a month, and he spends alot of time under his UVB bulb. Regardless, back to my original question, can I turn off the basking lights durring the hot part of the day? Or can I just leave them off entirely? How do other people in very hot climates deal with the high temps?
