Do I have a male or female

I just recently got a Panther Chameleon and the breeder said that based on some green coloring it was a male. I’ve been researching to try and learn as I’m new to having one. Is the only way to tell by the tail?

the base of the tail is thick , so I would say male .

So it’s safe to say that you can judge by coloring? I’m just trying to understand the proper way to sex a baby.

@Jeff W Color can fool you sometimes....for young ones.

not at that young.... at about 4 months you might see some faint color
