I have a juvenile male veiled chameleon. I purchased him from petsmart and I know for a fact they weren't feeding him enough. The person at the store said they were giving him probably 2-3 small crickets a day. Tonight, I just put in a dozen large crickets because he's had 4 days to acclimate to the cage and he ate a dozen small crickets on Sunday. I watched him eat probably half of them immediately and then he started to slow down a bit. My question is, will he force himself to eat all the crickets that are in there, or will he wait until he's hungry again and eat them later. I don't want him to gorge himself just because I put more crickets in there that he's used to eating. I also want to start giving him superworms, and I'd like to just be able to put a few in there and leave them there for him to eat whenever he's hungry, but I won't do that if he's going to force himself to eat just because they're there. Your advice is appreciated. Thank you.
