Do all gravid panthers change colour?

Hi, thank you for allowing me to join :)
I was wondering if all Gravid panther chameleons change colour and if so what is the timescale for them changing colour from being mated?
Thank you :)

Welcome to the forums!

As for your question, not all panthers will change colors. It is based off that individual female. Some with change to a gravid coloration within hours of mating and remain that color where others will only show that coloration when a male is re introduced. My one female doesn't change her body color at all even when a male is around but when she is gravid her tail will turn and remain completely black until she is no longer gravid.

As for timing, I had it from a day to over two weeks until they refused the male and showed him gravid colors.

Thank you for answering me :) I have read so many different things and they dont really say a definite yes or no to my question lol.
This is our first time breeding and our girl has been left with the male for 3 days in total and we are not sure if he has done his bit or not but fingers crossed he has.
If we show her the male now she goes slightly darker nothing major but puffs out her chin and gapes. We are not sure if she is now not receptive or gravid. We will have to wait and see :)

Sure thing!

If they were together for 3 days I would assume something happened. When I breed I only let them together during the time of breeding and then separate and try again the next day. If she is receptive, I let them breed again and continue this process until she changes tunes and becomes non-receptive.

I would assume is she is puffing up and gaping at the sight of the male that she is now gravid. I would start your clock from the last time they were together and would guess around 25-30 days she will be laying a clutch.

Just to be safe as you stated this is your first time, be sure she has a proper laying bin in her setup from this time on. I included some links you should check out. First are some videos by Dez and also a blog by Jann. All have excellent and priceless information!

Thank you :)
I have marked it on my calendar :)
She has a large lay bin in there already as she has laid infertile eggs once already (although she didn't use it :( she dropped them all over)
I will definitely have a look at the links though. Thank you I will keep my fingers crossed everything goes smoothly I will be updating on here as soon as anything happens :)

Thank you this makes me feel a lot more confident, really hope she is gravid now, the male belongs to a friend of ours and he is stunning :)

My female doesn't change to gravid colors at all! She's stubborn like that. ;)
My nosy be female has had black striations for several weeks now. She is relatively new to us, and I have not bred her nor did the person I got hre from breed her. I gave her a laying bin since she looked restless. I assumed she had infertile eggs and wanted to lay. She never did, but still has that blackish coloration. She will have nothing to do with my Nosy Be male, (he's ready) She turns very dark, gapes at him and hisses. I want to breed them (the nosy bes), but she's not having it. What am I looking at here?

She might just need time to settle in. The markings could be from stress and because of that, she is having nothing to do with your male.

If she does have infertile eggs, that could also be the issue. I would pull her out if she allows you too and gently palpate her lower belly and see if you can feel any. Either way, make sure you keep her laying bin in and allow her time to settle in. I wouldn't show her the male for another week or two depending on her mood and stress level.

Thanks a bunch. Got it no male for a while.

I'm going to check her tummy today. She is easy to handle, so I'll feel for any eggs. Her laying bin is in place.

:)

Here is a picture of Lola today I am becoming more convinced she is gravid now :)
