DIY UV sensor

Hey

I’ve been looking into home automation and such and I came across a UV sensor and I thought! Wow wouldn't be cool if I could build a meter so I could know exactly how much UV my future chameleon was getting, and maybe set it to alert me when the light starts to deteriorate. I know they have some meters out there but I can’t find any where I live (so far) and I thought it might be cool to get alerts and such. Has anyone else done this? Is anyone interested in it?

Hi
To be honest I have a solarmeter 6.5 and I would not change it for anything.
I know it is not cheap but when keeping many chams it is useful. Also not all uv tubes have got the same strength despite what the label says.

Hi,

I have seen those but I have yet to find any for sell here where I live. It's not so much the cost for me but availability. I also like idea of alerts. You can also add humity and temperature sensors. Idk well see I guess.

I could be wrong but I think the sensor measures UVI which is nice to have but you will want to know UVB primarily...

UVI is good. Most of the info we find is in UVB because the first devices only did that. If I have to choose one I would go for UVI

Where do you live? Some places sell them online.

an arduino nano is like 3$ and will work for that... I do still have a bigger arduino so i will probably use that and see if i can output to a display
