discoids

So I live in Florida and I clearly can't have Dubias. I am going to do discoids. I have a few questions though. 1. How many should I get to start a colony for I male veiled. 2. Will I have them year round. 3. Do I have to have a substate or can I just use egg cartons. 4. Do they infest your house at about 72 degrees.

I recommend purchasing from @jamest0o0 to get started! I got 100+ from him to get started. You can have them year round. They love the Florida heat and higher temps mean they'll breed more. You can do just egg cartons only but I do substrate with springtails to keep things cleaner. No, discoids aren't an infestation risk. They don't climb plastic either. They're really easy to take care of. I wish my cham liked them more.

Don't forget to wear a mask and gloves when handling or cleaning your roaches. You don't want to develop an allergy.

They love outside in a bucket in my garage. Must be 95 some days. I bought cork board at office store and broke it up and threw it in bucket. They are growing. Mobile, Alabama

I keep mine in my garage in a big clear bin. I do have them bioactive with some coco coir/soil mix, springtails and dwarf white isopods. The only escapees I’ve had are from my clumsy dropping one every now and then. I keep roach bait traps to catch them. No infestation. They’re doing well and making lots of babies. Central Florida.
