oh my i am watching a dirty jobs episode everyone needs to see its about docking and castrating sheep. all i can say is oh my, hope they make tons cause thats one job i cant do seriously you tube it dvr it whatever u got to do just watch it!

i watched a sweet one this morning when i woke up. he was at an insect reserve or breeding complex type place. it was really cool, they had walking stick colonies in big screen cages set up like chams. lol it was neat. dirty jobs is an awesome show.

they showed him mushing a handfull of crickets in his hand, then fed it to water beatles lol it was nasty

I have personally docked and castrated sheep. My friends family have several very very large ranches. Its just as gross as it looks!

i love how buddies excuse to mouth the sheeps nuts were "cause they're slippery little guys" HAHAHAHAHAHHA use pliers and replace you teeth with the tip of a clamp.

To me that is just sad! Having worked for a vet in the past I know they tail doc dogs without any type of anesthetic at 2 days... Sorry I just see no reason farm or not that they don't use any anesthetic for this procedure...

it doesn't seem to really affect the animal.. or be long-fully painful. so why be mad? why put an animal on a drug if its not entirely necessary?

JMO but they can easily give either local or some form of short term anesthetic to an animal of that age. Just sayin they don't do it to humans so why do it to animals.

If someone paid for the anesthetic, I'm sure they would use it. Because the way they have been doing it for many years doesn't cost them money, that is the way it's going to be done.
