Hi, i was wondering, if this is normal?

my female veiled who is about 1-2 months older than my male and is also quite a bit bigger,

She is a really nice lime green, with a yellowish stripe that runs down the underside of her body. you know that spikey bit, and orange around her head.

Where as my male is a darker/duller green, and his spike bits underside of him sorry dont know real name of it is, is more white.

They are from different, parents, so obviously there will be different colours, but i did not know this was apparant when young?

This is the bit i wondered, i noticed my male, has darker lower legs not by much, and the top of his head is a bit darker, almost a bit dirty looking? but is not? is this normal? thanks

Also they both go really light lime green when sleeping.

A photo would be good so we can see the colouring you are describing. Could it be that he's going to shed soon?

My two have different colour 'spikes' under their chins - Tommy's (adult veiled) are yellow/orange, whereas Amy's (11 months old) are white.:D

Hi, i think you may be right, its been a few weeks since he last shed, i can get some pics not sure if it picks it up i will try, he is still tiny, about 2-3 inch nose to vent iirc, thanks:)

They get darker when they need to take in heat... or when they bask .in vields this basking color is usualy brown....what are your males basking temps? Chams often do growth and color spurts, last month my 9 month olds colors were not anything that they are now, also males go through augly stage as they go through puberty and gert there color in. Its just a duller version on the striped and what not...duller greens and wat not....then a couple months later its like BOOM and all the color comes out. Most chams show almost full coloration at 10 months of age...usualy from there on it gets brighter and more saturated.

Hi he must be about 12-14 weeks old i think.

Iwill check g,ot his age when i picked him up somewhere,

He is still very small,, he does not go darker, as i have seen him do before as his basking light did not come on one morning as the bulb was gone, and he went very dark then

, This is always there, sort of light blotchy pattern his legs/tail and knees just seem a permement, but seems like he can make it more darker and sometimes hardly notice, , and on top of his head.its not alot but more than the rest of him, its does not really show on camerea.and compared to my female who is mostly lime green all over.I wondered if they could show this at a yong age as it almost seems like a pattern on his legs?

His temps are around 83-85 last time i checked basking. and his lowest spot in the viv, is about,69-72 ish
