Difference between Nosy Panthers

Nosy be is usually solid blue/turquoise. Like so: http://screameleons.com/site/3706/default.aspx It's not uncommon for them to have some red flecking on the face and yellow lips.

Nosy faly can look a lot like nosy be, especially if they don't have a lot of white. But the really extreme ones can look like this: http://screameleons.com/site/3693/default.aspx While a more typical one can be like this: http://screameleons.com/site/3690/default.aspx

And a Nosy mitsio is usually a green and yellow panther. Like such: http://screameleons.com/portal/alias__Screameleons/lang__en-US/tabID__3551/DesktopDefault.aspx

Thanks to screameleons for all the links lol They have awesome examples of many locales.

If the term NOSY is confusing you . It simply means island in the Malagasy tongue. Each of these Nosy locales are isolated populations of panthers found on islands off the coast of Madagascar.

I think that was what was confusing me. I know it's the locale that they came from, but wasn't sure if the different nosy locales were just morphs or if they were all different locales?

I love screameleons and I got my first cham from Vincent. Awesome person and breeder. But personally, if you really want to see a good selection of the various locales, then you have to go abroad where they have some locales that are not accepted here, like Nosy Radama vs. Ankaramy.

Here are two links to abroad websites that really show the difference between the locales:

Captivebreeduk.com - an British reptile forum

Pardalis.be - a Belgium chameleon breeder who no longer is in business but awesome examples.

they are all from different parts of the island and vary in pattern and color..one thing i know is the nosey faly are white backgronded and usually have red or bright burgandy splotches..you can google it and find out a lil more..i had looked them up for a friend like a month ago, and did tabs on them so i could do like a slide show of the different patterns, colors, and looks..

Not all nosy falys have white, or even red. Just the "amazing" ones. I'm not too fond of the blue. Nosy bes can be green as well. Nosy mitsios can have red in them too.

i agree, and it really always depends on the animal itself what colors it produces...
