Did i miss my chance

Today i was changing a thumb tack on a branch and had to reachinto the cage by my new chameleon, and she stood up on her hind legs almost like she was waiting for me to put my hand under her but i just pulled my hand out. I didnt think she would have been ready to come onto my hand, and that was not my intention. Should i have put my hand under her to pick her up? or do what i did?

A stance like that is a defensive move, so if youd've gotten closer your Cham would've done the praying mantis Kung Fu move on your hand.

i was just asking because she wasnt all puffed up or dark but i dont want the kung foo move

If her colors weren't defensive and she was reaching towards the you I don't see why you couldn't try to get her out. Slow movements though. If you move too fast she could change her mind
