Dexter the nosey be

So I went to the Pittsburgh reptile show today with no intention of buying anything alive, just supplies....well then I happen to stumble upon the one nosey be in the whole place. And well I fell in love so guess who came home with me?!? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1346017517.757903.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1346017536.344472.jpg
And now for an interesting question and I'm asking the longtime owners here...he keeps gnawing on the branches and vines, even the zip ties he gnaws on..all edges aren't sharp I heat the ends to round everything off as to not cut him if he drags across it..his mouth is clean and shows no sign of any kind of rot inside..he's drinking up a storm so I'm providing lots of water and
mistings

I've put some greens in to try and coax him to chew those but so far he seems to not be interested

Aww...that's awesome that you came home with a cute new friend. I can understand it would be hard to walk away. I hope you enjoy him.

Thank you! Yeah I initially walked away and came back for him less than 2 minutes later lol..I just couldn't leave without him..he hasn't stopped moving since he got in his cage and goes thru a cycle of colors nonstop, everytime I look at him he's a different color and different bars haha

Congrats on your new guy! I am not sure why they bite on things like that. My one cham used to bite on this fake plastic toucan I have but now does not bother with it. As far as the greens, he more than likely will never touch them.

Thank you! I got kinda excited for a sec when he was first biting the branch I thought he might chomp on some greens but he just walks right over them. He certainly is the most active lil Cham I've ever seen tho

If he is gnawing on branches and things he may be lacking something in his diet! Try dusting with minerals and see if that helps!

Congrats! He looks nice and healthy! :)

Thanks max! Yeah I gave him a good inspection at the show. He was a lil dehydrated by the time we finally made it home (almost a 2 hour drive) and was very happy for water as soon as I misted him
