Deworming

Hi, please could anyone advise me as to deworming a veiled Cham. Do they get dewormed and how often. Could parasites cause vomiting (which has only happened once).

I have a veiled cham 1 year 5 months old. Everything has been fine so far but he has now not eaten for a couple of days and when he did eat a super worm I notice that he had brought it up whole a couple of hours later. We live in a warm climate in South Africa and his basking temp is 82 F. I am going to change the bulb to increase the basking temp as it should be 85 - 90 F.

Just can anyone advise on the dewormer.

When deworming you need to first of all know what parasite you are dealing with. Different parasites need different meds to get rid of them.

To determine what might be wrong with your chameleon we need more information. Can you fill out the questions in the "how to ask for help" thread in the health section.

IF..your chameleon does have parasites like kinyonga said. You will need to examine the feces under a scope to determine the parasite at hand.

To be sure it isnt anything husbandry related. Please fill out the how to ask for help form. Simply stating superworms in my world trips an alarm.
