I think there were some of these larva in with my dubia roaches that now turned to bettles only like 5 or so. It this bad or good or is there something else that looks like them. The DERMESTID BEETLES is the only thing i could find that looked like them.
post a a pic if you can, i dont really know for sure, but i am guessing that dermestids can be a threat to a roach colony, so i would get them out of your colony, if they can strip meat off of bone, i would imagin that they would dominate the food and may be a threat to the roaches themselves especially the little ones.? jmo
sage advise. i did, however, search and didn't find much addressing my particular question. I've seen people commenting that in the worm phase they may be irritating if eaten, but I didn't see anything about when they are in the beetle phase. I know they have a pretty hard shell, and feeding them purposely surely isn't a good idea, but my guy ate one accidentally, and I'm curious if there's any need for concern. He doesn't seem to have any blockage which was immediate concern.
