Dehydration (?)

I’ve been a bit worried about Rango lately. I think his turrets are beginning to look a bit… sunken? I’m aware this means he may be dehydrated.

He is hand-misted twice a day, before and after his lights turn off. Of course I haven’t personally witnessed his drinking, but apparently this isn’t uncommon and it’s just a rare sight.

I will be purchasing some supplies for him tomorrow (refill of dubia roaches & hornworms). Since hornworms are considered to be hydrating, should I feed him these more frequently or just as an occasional treat?

I’ve also read/seen that some chams like to be watered personally (spray nozzle is held to their mouth, Cham opens their jaws and drinks), but Rango absolutely hates the spray bottle. Maybe I should put some ice cubes on top of his tank so that he could drink the drips? I don’t have a dripping water thinggy 😅

I would spray the foliage in Rango's enclosure and attempt to watch him drink water drops from the leaves. When acclimated Rango should drink in front of you.
