A common scare , my chams shy away at first but the "instinct" to drink kicks in after about the second full minute of misting. I know if he is thirsty because he will haul it over to the nearest bunch of leaves and lick the droplets. If he is eating I sure he is drinking, just keep an eye on temps, little ones dry out real fast.

Looks fine. If your worried about it. Just spray it longer or more often. Or both. So maybe 10 minutes of spraying for four times a day.

So just do longer sessions of misting, as well his droppings have orange in it whihc means dehydration so just more misting then?
Could i give him silkies or not since hes a baby

Silkies are soft and pliable and a good source of calcium. Usually you can get smaller ones or just buy some silkworm eggs and hatch your own. As far as I know there are no issues with feeding small silkworms.

I have recent veiled babies as well. They sometimes close their eyes in the middle of the day ... I think they're just napping and content. :) That basking temp may be a little warm for a young veiled though. I believe that low to mid 80's is enough until he's a few months old. Perhaps just move the basiking light a bit farther from the closest point the cham can get to it.

I've read many articles that say not to mist the babies directly but this is almost impossible. They go a little crazy when sprayed but seem fine a minute or two later. Mine are only a couple of weeks old and I just hand mist 3-4 times a day and feed 2-3 times a day.

Hey .... I just read the type of cage that you were using and that is HUGE for a 2 week old veiled. Most people don't even let their baby veileds go until they're a month or two old. I have my young babies in a 10 gal. tall aquarium with a screen top and vents in the side and the slightly older ones in an opaque tupperware container that's slightly larger. The smaller enclosure has a small 25W desklamp pointing down at one end and the tupperware container being more open has a 50 or 60W incanscent bulb pointed down at one end. This way they can get away from the heat if they like. A small mesh enclosure would be fine but I would think that your little guy would have a hard time finding his food in an enclosure that large.

I just read the part about the eyes squinting too. You may want to use a 2.0 bulb instead of the 5.0. Also make sure that you're using the tube type and not the spiral type of UVB bulb. There have been problems associated with the compact fluorescents. If he's squinting a lot it sounds as if the lighting is too bright or perhaps too warm for him.

Good luck and keep us posted !!!

Thanks, alos when i mist should i like not mist him directly just so he gets wet?
But he gets kinda mad like

Ya, get him a little wet. Silkworms are great staples! They don't have the hard exoskeleton. But sometimes their poo looks different from them.
