hey all, seems like my 2 year old male panther has been doing a good amount of daytime napping. more often than in the past. is this an age thing? any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

hey, ive pmd donna about my husbandry & it seems to her that im doing fine. she has made it known to me that it is infact uncommon for my cham to be basking with his eyes closed because they always should always by nature be watching for predators. i will def make a vet appt asap! i will be sure to keep the thread posted.

Not at all, but I'll copy and paste here so others can see. We don't want any secrets. Be sure to take a poop sample with you to the vet so you can have him checked for parasites too.

What is a repcal bulb? tungsten or MV?

yes, lights are on for 12, off for 12 hrs of the day. dont remember what type of repcal bulb. i can check when i get home. its what the pet store manager picked off the shelf for
me when i told him i needed a basking light. its only for heat. just got back from the vet. she said he looked very healthy. to be honest there wasnt much she could tell me about his eyes closing because he looked so healthy to her. i wasnt able to bring a stool sample because it was too short notice but im hoping ill be able to drop one off by tomorrow. she told me to cut bask on the multi vitamin dusting to once a week and give straight calcium throughout. she also said to switch my gutload to fishflake from potato for the vit a. other than that she didnt have much to say. one thing that was strange to me was that she said boost the temp from 87 to 93 or so? that didnt sound right to me but i didnt wanna argue. im going to keep it at about 87 unless anybody disagrees. i hope the vit tweak works but im sill scared for my guy who still basks with his eyes closed.
