Days Are Cooler and Now My Cages Are

Since it’s been cooler now, my chameleon cages are getting colder. Both screen cages are 48” high. The basking areas are now measuring around 76 degrees, based on the thermo gun. Both the veiled chameleon and panther chameleon cages have a 75w and a T5. Should I get a 100w bulb and raise it higher? Recommendations would be awesome.

Hi and welcome! :) Is there any draft coming from the window? If so, you’ll want to either move your enclosure or add insulation film. Do you have a thermometer with a probed end to double check basking temps? If you’re still getting readings below 80, yes, get a stronger basking bulb. I keep my boys around 80-85.

Thank you so much for the response!! So both cages are in different locations. One is by the window and one isn’t. The one by the window doesn’t have insulation film so I will do that. The other cage that isn’t by the window does have 2 sides that are covered with film, because I need more humidity. But both cages are around the same temp. They have the probed end.
