Day 30 and shes digging.

I was skeptical my female was pregnant (being day 30 and only gaining 10 grams) until today I knew something was up. Ive been witting a paper all day so I've been able to keep my eye on here but I found her on the bottom of her cage this morning so I placed her in her laying bin which has been in her cage for the last few weeks and she ran right out of it but she would not stop running around and clawing at the top corner of her cage. At 2 o'clock today I noticed her walking down her vine and onto her laying bin which I had never seen her do and she went in and has been there for the last 4 1/2 hours. I let her be and have check on her twice now and I can see her about 3 inches down there. So I'll post some pictures and an egg count (hopefully small) as soon as shes done. Any idea on how much longer?

She laid 21 eggs and is doing good shes been eating all day and is back up basking. I took some vermiculite and added distilled water and mixed till when I squeezed it little or no water would drip out, in the picture they are not covered but I did put another half an inch of damp vermiculite over them, does this sound right?

Congrats! Perfect sized clutch!

I've never covered my eggs...they just sit in "thumb-print" indentations on top of the moistened vermiculite. When the hatch rate is good, I stick with the method! Some people on here do cover eggs though...and it apparently works doing that too.
