Dark spots

Hello. I have a 1.5 year old male panther chameleon. One day I noticed a couple dark sports on him. Dark purple or brown in color. Also a section of his spine that was normally dark red has also turned this brown/purplish color and has continued to shed skin continuously well after his last shed. Not sure if it’s a burn from his heat lap, bacterial, or bruises. Is this something I should be worried about?

Ryan,

Hi and welcome.
I am not a vet so all I can share is my limited experience.

He looks great to me. I’ve learned that as they grow they’ll turn new colors, new patterns as well as new attitudes. Lol.

The only way to know for sure is to get him to a qualified vet.

You should also fill out this info form. That way those with the most experience can give you the most accurate help.

It looks like bruises and if they are thats fine they will just go away. Just to be sure how big is the distance between basking spot and the lamp and how strong is the lamp/ whats the temp at the basking spot?

It looks like a minor burn to me... just lower the basking area
