I just noticed this today.
Does anyone know what it could be??

watch and see if it gets larger. i kind of feel, especially because of the location, that it might be a fungal infection

Is there anything I can do for it?
I know he will need medication but he's already on three different ones right now, including baytril and I don't think his body could handle anything else.

i think the baytril should help im not sure though =/

I really hope so.
And it's not that we aren't willing to take him to the vet again, I mean we've been doing our best regardless of the cost.
I'm just worried that another medication would be to hard on his body especially in this state.

Aww poor fella :( he's really going through a lot. I don't have any experience with dark spots, but it kind of looks like a fungal infection being that it's on his feet. Make sure he's not constantly sitting or laying on anything moist for too long. If it is fungal, then the baytril won't help it since it'll only kill internal bacteria. I would think that it would need something topical applied on the affected area. I'm sorry that you're going through so much with him. I've followed your other thread and he is a soldier so I'm sure he'll get over everything in time. You guys are great.. Good luck.

I say this with great hesitation since I'm not a vet and don't want to be held liable but,,,,,

Maybe Lotrimin AF (Anti-Fungal)??? It's for athlete's foot, ringworm and jock itch... You could try a very very thin application on his foot and keep an eye on it.....

I've also seen lotrimin for this issue.
I just wasn't sure.
I've seen some people actually
Say their herp vet prescribed it.
Thank you!

IF it is fungal a better choice IMHO to use to treat it would be flamazine since if it accidentally gets into the chameleon's eyes or mouth from it rubbing on the branches it shouldn't hurt them. (I just don't know if the one you mentioned is safe for that.)

Also...are you using those fake twisty branches/vines for the chameleon?

gosh, don't you think you need to find out what it is first before you go treating it? Giving your cham Baytril would be foolish if that was not even going to treat the issue.Oral Meds are hard on them. If it were me I would be taking it to my vet.....just my opinion...

If you read through all of this you would know I'm not treating his foot with baytril.
He is on baytril prescribed from our vet for a RI.
Thank you.

Where would I get flamazine?
And yes they do the the fake bendy vines?
Could that be causing the issue?
The only
Thing is we've had him on a grape vine branch since his illness progressed.
Maybe it was already an issue and we just didn't catch it because we were so focus on him getting better.
And could the flamazine have a negative effect with the other medication?

Clotrimazole, the drug in Lotrimin, is fairly benign. I know chameleons might be more sensitive than humans, but for humans Clotrimazole is used on very sensitive tissue, including inside the mouth.

So you think that would be best?
There's so much going on right now it's hard to know what to do and what's best for him.

None of the people who have replied on this thread are veterinarians and even if they were they can not diagnose things from a few pictures on the internet.

Before you decide to treat for a fungal infection perhaps find out if it is indeed a fungal infection and this is what Carol and Lynda are trying to say. Your animal needs more aggressive treatment for it to survive than just Baytril for the RI and some force feeding at home. I would go back to the vet or get a second opinion on how to proceed in case your first vet isn't fully versed in reptile medicine.

He is not only on baytril for his RI.
He is on baytril, vibramicyn, and gentamicin.
I believe carol thought I was treating his foot with baytril which I'm not.
I wouldn't self prescribe him antibiotics nor am I asking for anyone to prescribe anything.
I'm just asking if there is anything I can do right now, to be active in his recovery, until I can get him into the vet.
We found our vet on here and She is experienced in reptile medicine.

We are doing the absolute best we can for him and if anyone has any questions concerns,or criticism, please feel free to PM me with your thoughts.
I appreciate all your help, thank you.
