Crickets, which?

I have been going to a pet store that is about an hour away. I run out soon and was wondering if a bait/fish shop...would be an ok place to buy crickets.

I understand the health might not be as good but could I let them gutload over night before feeding?
Is there a safe way if you buy them?
All I want to do is have a shorter ride (less gas) and buy more quanities. I am sure they are much cheaper for more amount.

Can I?

(Years ago I had different kinds of lizards and fed them crickets from a store like that...not a pet store.)

I guess it depends on what type of bait/tackle shop you go to. My dad owns one in NJ but since they mostly deal with salt water fishing they don't sell crickets at all. We order all of ours online from one of the site sponsors, Ghanns. The crickets are relatively inexpensive and are very healthy. We usually order 250 and they come in about a day, depending on what time you place the order.

Then you don't have to drive at all!!

Wouldn't that be shipping fee too? I really rather have straight inexpensive and I am going to have to buy more than I do now cause I think I am adding another bearded dragon.

I checked that site out and I have to say it is a great amount for what I originally pay. I may have to have them send it on the 2nd day.

I normally pay $20 for 300 crickets at the pet store I go to.

I will use that but still want to know if a store I am mentioning would be a good idea?
