So all my roaches have gone bye bye tons of them died from like a day with out power plus the temps went wayyy way cold like 40 anyway so i have crickets in my bin now and i think the temps and everything are right i have it set up the same as my roaches they are chirping lol i have like 200 adults in there and all of them are chirping which i don't have a problem with i mean it makes it seem like im outside anyway my question is.

That chirping is good right? that means my temps are fine? everything else i have set up is fine i know that but im just hoping there chirping is good.

Actually only the male crickets chirp. It's to let the females know where they are for mating purposes and also to court the females. It's done by rubbing the wings together.

Interesting info about crickets...
Not all species chirp.

It's said that you can tell the temperature by the number of chirps per minute.

One study done by an entomologist showed that most crickets are right winged.

You can tell the male from the female if you look at the BACK END....females have three "antennae" and males only two. The middle one one the female is actually the ovipositor.

To convert cricket chirps to degrees Fahrenheit, count number of chirps in 14 seconds then add 40 to get temperature.

Example: 30 chirps + 40 = 70° F

To convert cricket chirps to degrees Celsius, count number of chirps in 25 seconds, divide by 3, then add 4 to get temperature.

Example: 48 chirps /(divided by) 3 + 4 = 20° C

Sorry i couldnt resist.

lol!

Is it black or brown crickets you have? we keep brown field crickets and they really don't need any special environment unless you want to breed them.

I wouldn't breed crickets, I did for a while but they stink and the adults eat the young so you have to separate them an it can be a pain as you really carnt help afew escaping

The fact that they are chirping does not prove if your temperature is ideal or not. As others mentioned though, there is some interesting correlation between a cricket's chirps per a minute and the temperature.

Crickets prefer warmer temperatures. Aim for at least 75 degrees F. If you are trying to breed, you would make it much warmer than that (think 85 F). However, anything colder than 75 degrees increases the cricket tendency toward cannibalism. Also, younger crickets are affected the most by a colder temperature.
