Cricket problem

So, I'm a new owner and I keep my Jackson chameleon in my room. The problem is I am very afraid of those crickets, even though they're small. I was trying to empty a few into is cage today and 3 got out. I panicked and crushed 1. The other 2 got away. Now I'm afraid to go into my room. Right now, I just have a small reptile container that I hold my crickets in. What should I do to get the crickets into the container and ensure this doesn't happen again? Also general feeding suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I was thinking that too. I will probably get one of those. I just have trouble getting them from the bag to the tank. I guess the vac is the best option. Although I have a dark closet RIGHT next to the cage. Do you have any opinion on the bug tweezers?

I have trouble have with getting them into the containers too. You could try putting the bag in the fridge for an hour because this will slow them down, make them dopey.

I just use little plastic tweezers. I use 2 pairs because I take the back legs off & it's easier that way. Also easier to catch them without having to touch them!

no probs! just be sure to put them in the fridge, not the freezer, or you may just end up with cricket ice cubes lol

Are you using cardboard egg cartons or toilet paper rolls in your cricket container? Reason I ask is because it is easier to get crickets out if you have these items. They will hide in the egg crates or paper rolls and you can just lift out a roll or egg crate and shake it into your chameleon's home. The crickets will hop off right into your chameleon's enclosure.
This method sure beats touching them!
