Very cool!! We also have Russians! We have 3. And my boys are trying to decide if they want a bearded dragon or a crested gecko! Yours look cool!

I'm not sure how old they are, I've had them 2 years and they were probably around a year old when we got them.

Cadance, do you have males or females? Mine fight so much! My husband thought two would be a nice idea and keep each other company, but they just fight like siblings!

If you are worried about the size beardies get to, I'd definitely recommend a Rankins/Lawsons dragon if you can find one, they are hard to tell apart from beardies when young, but they stay much much smaller, they don't get much more than about 6-8 inches, but their care and temperament is pretty identical to beardies. I adore the way crested geckos look, they are so beautiful and look so much like tiny dragons. Those and beardies are also much easier to look after than chameleons, much better for children and beginners!

The stubby female crestie and the dragon are both rescues, the tortoises are CB and the other two cresties were from a pet store in the UK. They all cost a small fortune to bring with us on our move from the UK to the US! More than all our furniture! But I couldn't bear to part with them, so it was worth it.

Between kids and your collection Mummy is a good name. i know someone with rankin dragons. I wanted one forever and after I finally quit keeping dragons I find a rankin breeder.:( I love all the variety you have.

They are really cute, Laurie, but you're right, it's challenging looking after so many animals with different requirements! I'm really glad my husband has severe fur allergies, or I'm fairly sure we'd be raided by Animal Cops after years of living in a house that smells like pee.

Draco got some new wallpaper and furniture today, he's looking very pleased with himself!

Wow! Enjoy the sulcata! You are far braver than me! In 30 years you will have a very eco-friendly ride-on weed muncher!

Wow! A whole rampaging herd of sulcatas!

Draco has convinced himself that when I put up his new wallpaper I must have installed some sort of secret hatch in it somewhere and is investigating it thoroughly, to the point that he's stood up on the tip of his tail to reach the top!

I think he has ADHD or something, he barely moves, as soon as I do something supposedly traumatic, like ship him across the Atlantic or completely rearrange his biv, his colours get bright and his eyes get big and excited and he can't sit still! He was chasing my fingers as I cleared debris earlier!

Did you get your Rankins/Lawsons Bearded Dragon from Debby at Jungle Jewels Reptiles? Also, do you have it on sand? I would switch to paper towels for now. Just to be on the safe side with him possibly eating the sand instead of the food left for him.

No, he was a rescue from a charity in the UK, we had him shipped over with all our other reptiles when we moved to NY in November. We've had him about 2 years now, and I would say I'm only just learning his cues. He was very depressed for a while after we got him because his mate died, and although she used to eat most of his food, apparently, I think it took him a while to adjust to being alone. He is very friendly and doesn't get worried or nervous, unless I'm bathing him, which he hates.

It was only once we moved and he'd been in boarding for 2 weeks that he suddenly woke up and charged about with loads of energy, although we wondered if it was a change in UV light or similar, he was like a different dragon, and his belly went bright white and the patterns across his face were more vibrant. I had no idea they could fire up like that, but the visible change in him has been amazing.

He has always been kept on sand, and we haven't had any impaction issues at all, he's very dainty when he eats and as I feed him by hand or from a bowl there isn't usually much sand in there. He gets crickets sometimes too, but he's only interested in them when he's in his bright mood, otherwise they just run all over him and he doesn't care. The only viv issue I've had with him is making the mistake of buying a complete bearded dragon setup from Petco when we first moved over, before he was shipped. It came with reptile carpet which he just got his claws stuck in constantly and was very miserable, so we switched him back to sand, which he loves digging in.

Do you have Lawsons/Rankins? It was pure chance we rescued him, and since then I have never seen another one or known anyone else who keeps them.
