Couple Questions

Hi everyone i have a flap neck chameleon his name is juju hes green with bright yellow Y's on his upperback. me and my girl friend just got his about 2 weeks or so ago and he seems to be fitting in fine hes about 5 inches from the tip of his head to the begining of his tail, im giving u guys this info so you would better understand him and my questions.


ok time for first question we at first were buy him small crickets ad he was eating them fine but he was eating allot of them so i thought maybe going to the next size up would be a good thing to do but yesterday i saw him sitting on one of his branchs in his enclosure and he seemed to be kinda bunched up like allor smaller then he normally does then he opened his mouthand kinda looked lie he was gaging but idk if they can gag or throw up. i was wondering if the size of crickets that we got him were to big for his age (if that has anything to do with it).






another one of my questions were i know how to tell if he is dehydrated at least i think i do i have read almost everything that u guys have posted about that and as far as i can tell he may not be but his eyes look like they have a little more to fill in to im not sure if thats cause he still has growing to do or what its not like his eye stick out extremely far they seem normal and his eyes arnt foggy or anything. its just something i have been wondering.

if his urate-pee- is yellow orangish then yes he needs more water, the urate should be white. the crickets fed to your cham should be the size of the width of his head. that's a rule of thumb I've seen thrown around this board alot

the advice about the poop and crickets is great advice any feeders that are given should be no bigger than the space between their eyes to avoid chocking and yes they can spit their food back up if its too big. its best to avoid this happening my motto is when in dout leave it out. well im glad u guys gave me new info that i can use with him i will make sure i get him smaller crickets then there was only 1 big one in there that i dont hear and or see anymore so i think he ate that one he seems to be doing fine today just hanging out took him out and he climbed up on to my head like he normally does.

oh another question we also brought these worms that look like they are wearing armor plateing lol i cant remember there name but how would i go about feeding them to him we havent tried to hand feed him yet.
