couple questions

I have a 9 month old panther chameleon.

Equipment:

2X2X4 dragon strand
tropical blaze quad fixture
raindome
ZOO MED™ Reptile Basking Spot Lamp

basking temp in hot spot 85-90
humidity 30-? ( gauge is on the side of cage)

My question is.... My cham keeps going to the bottom and exploring the bottom of the cage. He is eating, drinking, and his feces has the white in it.

I thought he might not have enough vines to explore so I added 5 more. He's not climbing the screen as often... so that's a plus.
I can send pictures of him and his enclosure if that would help.

Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

Most males at that age will start exploring more as they are looking for both rival males and for breeding females. I wouldn't be concerned about it but if you want to be extra careful it wouldn't hurt to post pictures to make sure everything is in order.

I have two panthers. One almost never goes to the bottom half of his cage. The other one is an explorer, you never know where he will be. He even creeps underneath the plant stand on his rounds. I don't know if he's patrolling his area, or if he's on the hunt for prey. He's perfectly healthy, and seems content. He just uses every square inch of his cage. :)

I can post pictures later.

My other question is can I feed my live plants?

I have a wandering jew and umbrella plant. I'm really interested about the wandering jew.

Thanks for the comments.
