I just had a couple quick questions on behavior that I didn't see in the "Frequently Asked" Section. I just recently got my first cham, she's been doing fine, she's a baby, I saw her catch and eat a couple pinheads for the first time today which got me excited.. I just had a few questions.
1. I noticed that she walks ALOT on the sides of the cage wall and likes to hang upside down on the roof of the cage. I mean she eventually climbs in the leaves I just wanted to know if thats normal at all. She gets fairly close to the UVB light and the basking light (Which are both outside of the cage and on top, the UVB is on the side of the cage, its a screen cage, Reptibreeze) So theres no real danger with burns or such. But isn't getting close to the light bad for their eyes?
2. This isn't really behavior wise but Whats a good and fast way of keeping the humidity up in a screen cage? I noticed that the humidity goes down after the water that I spray in there dries up a little and than goes up again after I spray, I do have a dripper that drips water or at least an hour. and than I spray twice a day. But it still seems to go down.
3. I haven't physically handled her since the day I got her, but she doesn't seem to like when my hands get to close to her, like I was fixing one of the plants in there and she hissed at me! I don't try to hold her or anything cause I know chams don't like to be handled or carried, I just hope one day Im able to hand feed her or something! Is there a way to start taming them now to get used to me being around and not so aggressive or afraid?? She's in my bedroom, so i'm here most of the time.
I hope you guys have some answers thanks!
