My 7 month old male veiled chameleon eats a lot of his pothos plants and I can see a slight trace of blood sometimes when he wipes his rear end over a vine after defecating. His stool checked out fine after a recent bacterial infection he was treated for and the vet said he looked great.
But I wonder if eating so much pothos plants could cause him problems. Could he also be eating from the soil of the plant? - I replaced the top third of the soil with "bed a beast" coconut fiber material.
I would replace the plant with an artificial one, but I worry about him trying to eat it. He drinks two to three times a day from an eye dropper I offer him and does not look dehydrated.
He eats mainly superworms right now since getting tired of crickets when he turned 6 months old.
Any thoughts about this would be appreciated.
