Hey there.... I just bought a cool mist humidifier for my cham....to keep the humidity up for him....in hopes to clear up his foamy mouth....i have read that other members use a warm mist...what is the best option?
Warm water will help clear that out better. It's just like when you have a stuffy cold and you (or your parents, as is more the case in my house) put your head over a steamy bowl of water with a towel over everything. The warm humid air will help your breathing.
I had one and I just took it back it didn't do what I wanted it to. I thought it would help keep the humidity up but the screen blocked it pretty good and the mist didn't make it through the whole cage. My purpose was for humidity levels so I just bought a MistKing.
The vet I talked to about curing a respiratory infection is one of the best in the country (Dr. Alfonso) as far as chameleons and he recommended warm steamy showers and warm humidifier if I had one. I did not so I opted for warm showers in the tub instead and warm hand misting. That and antibiotics did the trick.
