Consensus on Basking Light Fixtures

Morning y’all!

Going to the store later and want to get a consensus on what the best basking fixture is. I bought the wider one without realizing it, but I do notice it lights up the terrarium a little more. Does it matter which one I have? Is one better than the other? Both are maintaining the appropriate temperature for each guy. 🙂

Also, just want to say a quick thank you to everyone on this forum. I’ve been very active on here and I appreciate all the help everyone provides, and can’t recommend this forum enough for chameleon owners! 🥰

TBH, depending on the type of bulb, you may not even need a reflector.
Household incandescents can make better use of reflectors; floods have reflectors built into the bulb, so the fixture is more for protection against damage or burns.

When I do use a fixture, I like clamp lights. They're inexpensive, extremely versatile, and easy to mount and/or adjust at angles to provide gradient zones without special hardware.

Think these halogen mini suns that i use for keeping desert locust are the type you mean that could potentially be used without reflector Klyde O'Scope?
