confused about temperature!

Hi Guys,

I'm really confused about what temperature I should be keeping Neelix at during the day and then at night. I work in Centigrade so farenheit confuses me & I feel doubtful.

My shiney new thermometer does metric and imperial, so I'm just wondering if someone could advise me? He's 4 months old, I have a thermometer placed just within the cool side of his cage, literally just outside the range of his heat lamp. The heat lamp is controlled by a thermosat placed about half way down his cage, so I assume that it's at the set temperature where the thermostat is and is hotter above and cooler below?

Basically, I set the thermostat at 25C during the day & leave it. Then switch the heat lamp off at night. Will this be sufficient?

Thanks!

what type of chameleon and how old?

does this help?

Veiled/Chamaeleo:
day basking spot up to 96.5F/36C (Non breeding females and Juveniles hottest spot should be kept at a lower temp, closer to 80F)
day cooler spot / ambient range 70-80F/21 -26C
night to a low of 60F/15.5C (Juveniles only down to 68F)

Panther/Fucifer:
day basking spot 90F/32C (Non breeding females and Juvenile basking spot should be kept at a lower temp, closer to 80F)
day cooler spot / ambient range 70-80F /21 -26C
night to a low of 65F/18C
(juveniles only down to 68F)

That's great, thanks. I've knocked his basking temp up to 80, & the thermometer in the cool area reads 70. :)
