Colour changes

Hello, I have a vieled chameleon, I know their base colour is green, and after about 4-5 months they change to their more colourful colours, however mine is mainly brown, I am new and is my first chameleon, just wondering if they change their base colours more then once to be even brighter as they get older? Or is this a husbandry issue?, eats drinks and deficates fine , thanks Sean

Looks like he’s got his bands already. Sometimes there’s various reasons why they stay brown...too cold, unhappy with their enclosure, etc. What does he look like when he’s asleep?

He gets light green stripes and his face goes light green, but his middle body stays brown
