colors, and what they mean?

hi everyone sorry if I didn't post this in the right area,,ok so my male panther is very tame and friendly 5 months old he loves comin out his cage when hes in his cage hes a green color with darker bands when I let him and he crawls on my hand he turns bright pretty colors when I feed him he has bright colors I have a huge 48x24x24 screen cgae but he lovs to come out ive seen him once since Ive had him turn a blackish brownish color think it was when my cat got near him I know he was pissed off then other then tht hes very docile can anyone tell me what the coloring means?ty

Bright colors can mean they are happy but they can also mean they are stressed out, nervous or upset. A lot of times when they "fire up" they can be mad or even scared.
