will cold climates cause a chameleon to sleep more?

my chameleon keeps falling asleep- mid day.
if he walks under a leaf he falls asleep- suppose from the dark?
he is also eating less.
should i be concerned about anything?

Colder temps do have an effect on chameleons but sleeping during the day still is abnormal. Most of the time colder temps change the time range they are awake but not make them fall asleep periodically.

What type of cage/chameleon are you keeping? Have you filled out the questionnaire regarding cage info, temps, ect...this will help everyone evaluate your situation much easier.

Sleeping in the daytime is not a good sign. My chams (veileds) may go to bed alittle earlier because it gets dark earlier but never sleep in the daytime.
