Closed eye of the chameleon

My panther chameleon has a problem with the eye, which almost always closed. The problem appeared by the strong UVB light bulb. He four days does not eat. I use eye drops from the vet but do not help. I turned off the light bulb UVB. What else can I do?

Try misting him more or a shower? It could be something irritating the eye that he needs to clean out.

Is it just the one eye?

Could be a vitamin A issue. I had the same issue with one of my panthers. Started supplementing with vitamin A and it corrected itself. Please note, this needs to be done very slightly. It was about 5 years ago, but i took vitamin A liquid capsules, poked a hole and put a very small amount on a cricket once every few day for a few weeks. Then went to once a month.

I sure hope that your beautiful boy feels better quickly! Eye health is a very complex toppic! All kinds of things can cause chameleons to hang around with their eyes closed. Please look at the thread below where there are some good tips to help you!
