Christmas gone wrong!

Christmas didn't quite go to plan for us this year. Our son had been having stomach pains since around midnight on the 23rd. He finally relented and phoned the NHS helpline early on Christmas morning having had only an hours sleep. He was advised to get to a doctor within a couple of hours. We took him straight to the out of hours section at hospital and within the hour he had been admitted with suspected appendicitis! So, just as the ward was tucking into Christmas dinner, our son was wheeled into the operating theatre! They were planning on doing keyhole surgery but it turned out to be so bad they had to make a larger incision to safely remove his appendix! He had to stay in on a drip overnight and we are hoping to bring him home later this evening. Not quite how we planned our Christmas, but it's been one we are not likely to forget!

Wow! I'm glad he is alright!!
Seems like everyone is sick this Christmas... I woke up with a 103 fever Christmas morning that has yet to break.
Although appendicitis makes my Christmas seem like Sunshine and daisies.

Wishing him a speedy recovery!!!

Oh dear. I hope he gets home soon and makes a good recovery. Did you have your Xmas dinner today?

Aw Tiff I am sorry for all your worry and that your Christmas with for family did not go as planned. Hope all is back to normal soon.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. He is doing really good and came home in the evening on Boxing Day. Everything is getting easier by the day. He seems much better in himself. Had an appointment with the nurse today to get his dressings changed. Hopefully, if everything goes to plan we can leave the dressings off after Tuesday.
