Choosing an upgrade

Hello all!

I have a 1 year old female veiled and I am looking to upgrade her enclosure. I was looking to get a dragon strand model, but just today came across an Exo Terra Flexarium. 100 Gallon 76 x 42 x 122 cm 30” x 16.5” x 48” on Craigslist, plants included, for $150, brand new. It would be bigger than the one I would get from dragon strand, and $100 cheaper, included shipping.

Reading reviews however, I'm wondering if it's much cheaper for a reason. Advice?

Most definitely go with DragonStrand! The price is worth it, trust me. I just recently upgraded Emoji's home to a DragonStrand large breeder series. It's great! I'm not saying anything agaist the exo terra, which I've never used, I just know how much I love my DragonStrand!

I agree, Dragon Strand is the way to go! We are actually starting to offer them with our complete setups are they are the best of the best and well worth every penny!

I have an ExoTerra. (Not sure the difference between mine and that one which is offered) but I don't mind it at all. It was the best enclosure that I could find in my town without ordering it. That said, I have been dreaming of a DragonStrand as an upgrade, largely for the add ons. The deep substrate tray, drainage systems, dragon ledges, etc. which you don't have the headache of praying that it fits - because you know it will. If you have the budget, I'd definitely go with that. If you arent going to go for any of that though, or you don't have the money, I'd save where you can. ExoTerra isn't bad.

So, I've got a little time before I need to upgrade my guy to his adult enclosure, and I'm debating whether to go with the dragon strand breeder or keeper series. I like the idea that the breeder will keep the mist and water in better, as well as provide a bit more darkness at night, since I'd only need to cover the front with a sheet.

Anyone have any experience with either? I live up in New England, so our winters can get pretty dry. My apartment has forced air heat, so the temp isn't a problem but humidity can get a little low, even with an evap humidifier running all day.

I adore my large breeder series. I don't have experience with the keeper series, but with the enclosed sides of the breeder, the humidity is lot easier to keep.

Yeah, sounds like a plan! Btw, do you have pictures of your setup anywhere on here? I'd love to take a look.
