So I am working on a drainage system for my Male Panther and Rudis girls. First off my cages are as follows:
Panther: 30"x18"x36" screen cage from Kammerflage I believe. (Got it used)
Rudis: (2) 16"x16"x20" reptibreeze. I took out one side each and attached them together fo it's 32"x16"x20".
So with these cages you can't find any water trays to fit them perfect so I had to improvise. I keep my two cages on a rack system from Home Depot. It stands 36"x18"x72" with ajustable wire shelves.
Sketch:
Material:
Tray:
Rubbermaid lid size 32"x18"
Sealant:
Catch Tub:
Sterilite 6qrt
Drain tube:
PVC connecter:
Step 1:
Drill hole into Rubbermaid lid directly into the center. I made mine with a 1/2". Ill tell you why later.
Step 2:
Seal pipe connecter over the hole on the bottom of the rubbermaid lid. I used a 3/4" pipe connecter. So i know it will fit well over the hole I drilled and it fits perfectly in between the bars on my shelf. This is the drain. The top os the rubbermaid lid should have a concave so the water drains into the hole.
As I wait for the sealant to dry tonight I will continue tomorrow morning and update.
