its been 3 days and charlee seems to be getting ok with his new home he’s eating a lot more esp when we aren’t in front of his face and he’s starting to pick his fav spots to hide and sleep and just get some uvb.

just got a new linear fixture that came with a bulb that that’s only temp getting a reptisun 5.0 or maybe a 10.0? very soon.

temps are starting to be stable as long as AC doesn’t kick on and if so it only drops 5 degrees. other than that, we also starting to gutload his crickets with calcium + water.

Probably the yellow and orange stuff from petco/petsmart. I started with this too and seems like the place newbies like me start out. The fact that everyone says they need a lot of calcium drove me to these as well becasue they both say fortified with calcium. Now I use bug burger and water crystals but will be using up the yellow water ones just to not waste money.

If you are using Bug Burger you don.t need the water crystals at all. The bugs get the moisture from the food

That is great to know. I just put the water because I saw them drinking once in a while and I wanted to make sure the hydration passes to the Cham. I do feed him horns once in a while so I dont think the cricket hydration is all that important but it was more to just keep them alive I guess. Not putting those in there will be nice though because tending the water situation takes a lot of time. I will just keep the burger up and drop the water. Thanks.

Can you explain this some? Not sure what you mean...

yep it’s the orange stuff i also use the sandy type stuff too but the orange stuff has water and calcium already in it but i give the crickets to choose both.

I guess i can add some
fruit in thier too. we’re keeping them in thier own cricket cage for storage

does anybody know what’s better to use between linear reptisun 5.0 and 10.0 ?? for a 3-4 month old cham veiled

i know everybody wants everybody to have the t5ho linear but budget has to wait for that.

Those orange cubes are total garbage, I'm sorry to tell you! They are not recommended at all for use with chameleons. They are made of non-nutritious ingredients which are made to keep insects alive, not to provide the required nutrients to your highly specialize animal. There is no better substitute for fresh produce than fresh produce. If you want to use a dry gutload, purchase some Cricket Crack, which will actually do your chameleon some good

I did the same thing. Honestly just buy either the cricket crack which is the fan favorite here or bug burger but with the bug burger some people here are opposed to it since it contains some corn and stuff that people say are not the best for chams.

dont know what cricket crack is, but sounds like some marketing thing someone here makes, ill just stick with the sandy fluke cricket stuff along with some fruits etc... and keep the orange stuff in case i run out of inventory..

seems like you guys dont buy nothing at the pet store, everything else is researched and bought elsewhere or off someone, are the pet stores that baad? geeez

Both cricket crack and repashy bug burger can be purchased on Amazon. If you want fresh stuff collard greens and some other veggies are very good options.
