Changing his name?

Ive been thinking about changing spikes name lately what do you guys think? I dont really want to but at the same time it just seems to common

Why not? It's not like they can here their name so they surely wouldn't know the difference. Now if I started calling my doberman "fluffy", he might look at me kind of weird, but I don't think your cham will.

If you don't really want to, don't. He doesn't know there are other Spikes out there...

I would keep his name. Once you've chosen one, it's hard to start calling them something else, lol! You'll find that you still refer to him as Spike anyway! Tommy was called Billy when I got him, but I wasn't too keen on that so I changed it. I wanted him to have a new identity for his new forever home. He was probably called something else before Billy as well. Spike won't care what his name is - as long as he gets his food, heat and water he really won't mind!

YAY! Go Spike! It suits him! Once you've chosen a name it usually sticks anyways and it's hard to start using a different name when you're so used to the original one!

I have a Spike as well...we decided that Spike is his nickname but his official name for any documents he might need to sign (why? who knows) is William Tiberius Frankenheimer....we think his expression is reflected in the initials...

My point is: call him Spike but give him another "official" name if that makes you feel less common. Make Spike a middle name, or give him a middle name...
