Changing cages and stress

i was wondering why chams get stress when you change their cages or move them to different one because in the wild chams dont stay in a certain area they are nomadic, or am i mistaken?

Actually, I have read that they hang out in pretty particular spots in the wild but may slowly roam over time, especially when looking for a mate.

Moving them to a new cage would totally be stressful because they had no control over it and were used to how it was set up. It seems to take them a bit of time to establish where the "highways" are.

This is a Chris Anderson question.

Maybe if you opened the door of his current cage and put the new cage opened against that allowing him to go into the new cage at his own wish it wouldn't be stressful

Thats a pretty good idea...But he may not want to switch that day or that week.

But if he does move himself im sure it wouldnt be AS stressful?

I would think that the chameleon may just get curious and want to explore the new addition.
