chams tail caught in cage

I opened up my chams cage so I can feed him and after I was done he went back inside and when I closed the cage his tail got caught in the screen door and its a little dark in color now. I dont know what to do and I feel like a complete f**king a**hole for doing this. This is about half in inch from the tip of his tail. Please help me n figuring out what I can do.

check if there is any fracture or awkward bent in the tail.
The dark color is basically a bruise.
Does he resume his normal routine or does he seems to be in pain?

Take a pic of his tail and post it here (just don't handle him though. He probably is super angry right now)

well this happened about 10 minutes ago and he seems fine but the tip does seem to have a little awkward bend (very little). What do I do?

if you say its black then that means that the blood circulation could be cut off from that part, i dont know what to do from their though, just wait for others to contribute

I would not be hasty and jump into conclusion that his blood circulation is cut off.
It's quite good to hear that he resumes his normal activity like nothing happen.
If you have time, post a pic of the tail.

Accident happens. Learn from your mistakes and don't beat yourself too much over it.

I would say that at the moment it looks like a bruise. He is able to curl it up so that is a good thing, and it is not black, just a little discolored. Right now you can do nothing uness you want to take it to a vet. Like dodola said, calm down... Wait untill you see what happens with it. If it starts to get BLACK then you will have a larger problem.

It really doesn't look that bad and it will probably heal perfectly fine

The tail looked bruised.. but, it wasn't that bad.
right now, just wait and see.
