Hey guys!
I was just curious if anyone knows if she looks like she's eating enough and looks healthy. I'm just a little concerned she isn't eating enough.
Very beautiful and no problems I can see. Are you free roaming your feeders or cup feeding? How do you count how many he eats? An adult male panther should be eating 6-7 feeders every day or every other day.
I cup feed him and I don't really count the feeders it's really more of a free feed I guess!
Well it's good to know its a male, the person I got him from said it was a female!
It sort of worries me that the person who you got him from thought that he's a girl- I'm wondering it you got any more wrong info when you got him?
Here's the care sheets for Panthers - He looks fine and healthy - https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/caresheets/panther/
Petco isn't known for giving good information - they tend to sell you the wrong things - use calcium (without D3 or phosphorus) at nearly every feeding, multivitamin once every 2 weeks, and calcium with D3 once every 2 weeks. Lots and lots of new members start off in the health clinic with a sick chameleon because they don't use the right supplement. (too much D) or none at all- because they were given bad information. He's a really great looking guy - I'm pretty new with all this stuff myself but I've had really good luck following the care sheets and paying attention and listening to the advice of the old timers on the forum- I'm glad I found this place early in my searches for information -
I agree with kplatvoet. I have been on this message board gathering information for a year now. I just joined not to long ago as it is getting closer for me to bring my male home( I hope anyways). I have been reading and working on building the right cage and learning how to care for these wonderful reptiles.
I don't listen to those at any of the major retailers. Some of the things I have heard over the years is just insane. I have had reptiles for many years but just getting my first cham. I normally research for a year before getting a new pet.
