Hi. I have a veiled with similar appearance to his eyes, but I do kind of know the progression of his issue. He was fine initially and then one of his eyes bulged way out. After a couple of vet visits, eye cleanings/flushes, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, his eyes bulged way now is smaller than the other…like your guy. The vet confirmed that the vision in the eye is poor to blind. I pretty much feel he’s blind in that eye completely. I have no idea what may have caused the issue and am still debating whether or not it’s worth another vet’s opinion to try to find out, when I doubt it will restore his vision. While it’s hard to tell if the eye causes pain, I declined long term use of anti inflammatory to avoid risking kidney injury.
So, I do recommend a visit with a vet who has experience with chameleons. I’m attaching the vet list if you need help finding one. If by chance you are in central Florida, I highly recommend Dr Alfonso. Let me know if you need his info.
To help my half blind guy, I make zero changes to his enclosure set up and having noticed that he has difficulty with his aim and eating, I now hand feed him. It has taken some patience from both of us for him to accept hand feeding.
