Chameleon wretching looking like being sick?

I was just giving my Panther Chameleon a drink with a pipette like normal then halfway through he started wretching and had his mouth open with his tongue going in and out for about 5 - 10 seconds. A bit of watery saliva came out also. I've never seen him do this before and can't find anything online to help me. Any info would be appreciated thanks.

Sounds like he may have aspirated some water, it's best to let them drink on their own because he has better control over how much water he in takes. Forgive me but could you post a pic of the pipette? I'm having trouble remembering exactly what those look like
