Chameleon wants to eat my face

This morning I went to feed my panther cham(9months) as normal. I have his cage open an I'm messing with his tree. I look over at him and he's acting like he wants to shoot his tongue at me! So I backed up and he stopped. I put my face back in and he's trying it again, as if I had a cricket on my face. So I figured what the hell, closed my mouth, squinted my eyes. Then he shoots me in the lip! He's never done anything like that before, has anyone ever had this happen before?

That actually happened to my brother his 1 year old Panther did that to him

Well, that's pretty funny. It's cool you let him try it out, no harm done. I'd figure he'll try it once or twice and after realizing he's not getting anything out of it he'll stop.

He probably just wanted to give you a smooch. Ha so chameleons do show signs of affection!
