chameleon toe nails

if they fall off do they grow back?
i noticed today that Mista has a couple of his nails missing,i can't get close enough to see if they are broken or not as he is not fully tame.
he has a habit of climbing up and across the mesh of his flexi no matter how much foliage you put in there and i noticed he gets his claws stuck sometimes.
it isn't hindering his climbing skills at all just takes him a little time to grip in the right place on the foot with the missing nails.
just wondering if they will grow back

I believe they sometimes grow back and sometimes they do not. Make sure he has plenty of other things to grasp onto other than the mesh/screen and never pull him off the screen forcefully.

I have found that they do not grow back. I think someone else said they did, but I doubt it. I guess you can hear from others with experience in toenail challenged chams.

Ive not experienced a cham growing back their nails before. However, I have noticed that some will grow a little hard nub where the nail once was. Certainly not anything that you could call a replacement nail. Unfortunately, when they are gone, they are gone.

Some toe nails grow back some dont. I belive it has to do with the inner quick. But I have had some grow back. So I know for a fact that some grow back.

On way to deal with this is to line everything but the front of the cage with a more open hole surface. I used the stuff they use for temp. fences. So he or she will grab on to that instead of the screen.

We have one chameleon that lost a few when he was young. He did grow them back but they are a little strange looking...a little thicker and shorter than normal. It took about a year before they started to grow back.

My panther was born (im guessing) without nails, ever since ive had him hes only had small little nubs for nails, very weird.

In my experience, they don't grow back but then I did read that it all depends whether the nail is just broken or completely out of its socket.

it looks all the way out but i can't get close enough to look for sure as he is only just taming down.when i feel when he is climbing the mesh they feel empty
