Chameleon tip is white!!!

can you get a better pic of the tail - that does not look like shed to me, but if it is, it will be gone very soon , if it looks like paper on the tail - its the shed

Are you seeing the redness right before the white starts? Could it be a burn?

Doesn't seem like a shed. An odd coloration pattern if that would be so. Hows the response when you touch or apply little pressure on the area? Might be a burn..

I would guess it's a birthmark! Reptiles have birthmarks too, just like the rest of the wild kingdom! Keep an eye on it and let us all know what's up! Also point it out to your vet upon the next visit! Or make an appointment with your vet to see if he/she agrees!
My daughter's python has a birthmark on it's head! Just a part of life! I call it character!

But it wasn't there when I purchased him:( I noticed it a couple mornings ago and was wondering what it was since..... It starts off white at the tip and turns a little black going up the base.. Just barely anything about a 1/16 of an inch.

It doesn't seem to hurt him when I squeeze his tail tip.. (In a really gentle way of course lol) it just seems to kinda freak him out a little

It is hard to pinpoint what this is...a couple of ideas:

A bruise (the blacker area). If so, it should disappear in a couple of days.
The white may be an early sign of an upcoming shed, and if he had bruised or rubbed his tail tip it may just be that area of skin might shed earlier than normal.

Maybe he pinched the tip of his tail in something while climbing around. As long as the black area doesn't get larger and he has normal control of the tip of his tail, it may not be anything serious. I don't see any break in the skin or an injury.

(Update on pics) help chameleon tip is white!!

Here are more pics I took of Leon's tail tip and his overall self.. I'm convinced it is a burn but want your opinion.. I'm gonna put neosporin on it starting today (non pain relief) I read in another post that they heal pretty good from these.. It's a minor looking burn so I'm not toooo concerned..

Well, I'm still not sure, but dabbing on some Polysporin (I've read this is a bit more compatible with herp skin than Neosporin) won't hurt anything.
